You blink ten times a minute. That’s about more than ten thousand blinks a day. You blink to keep your eyes up and running. Imagine never being able to blink and having one sole image stamped on your eye’s retina. How much of life’s scenery are you going to miss? Now, imagine being dispossessed of all the colours and ventures of life not because of blindness but because of resistance. You decline the charm in a sparkle and submit to the unlit gloom and the inerasable ink. You reside adjacent to mountain base and observe the summit from afar.
There come times when past miseries attempt to halt you from proceeding. They unite to hinder your progress. They beautify their existence in your memory. You revere them having taken place. You’re living a suicidal torment through giving too much of a commitment to elapsed fruitless encounters. You live a state of permanent reminiscence driving you back from such exquisiteness the sun rises upon. You’re sailing towards the future backwards since you’re aboard your past. You dwell on bygone regards oblivious to the ongoing festivity. You gaze at departing lanes and never spare an eye for the blissful arrivals.
Could one swear to terminate their own lives? Are you destined to abide by the gone days? Have they thrown you off your throne? Have they erased the guts with which you were upbrought? What about if you decide to head forward instead of to the back? Can you picture the wholesomeness awaiting revelation? Are you able to greet the sun as it rises and forever relish as it shines? Is it possible to see the enlivening rain in the dark clouds? Can you see flowers among thorns? Can you live the dreams afore their true coming?
Wipe off your tears and widen your smile. Get set, settle and victorious you will be in your battle. Rub out all instances of blackout. Live forever alert to cleanse your eyes for a clear sheer sight. Turn the days over, ink the will to take a risk and, every once in a while, blink.
